Sheikh Fahad discusses cybersecurity, counterterrorism with US Homeland Security Secretary

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, accompanied by Kuwait’s Ambassador to the United States Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah, held talks on Monday with US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem at the Department of Homeland Security headquarters in Washington, DC.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Kuwait and the United States in the field of security, with discussions covering mechanisms to enhance coordination and expand the exchange of information and expertise.

Both sides emphasized the importance of joint efforts to confront emerging global security challenges—particularly in combating terrorism, organized crime, and cybersecurity threats.

Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef highlighted the depth of the historic relations between the two friendly countries and affirmed Kuwait’s commitment, under the directives of its political leadership, to continue developing security cooperation to safeguard regional and international stability.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Sheikh Fahad expressed his gratitude to Secretary Noem for the fruitful discussions, reaffirming Kuwait’s aspiration to strengthen coordination and cooperation in order to serve mutual interests and bolster the security of both nations.
