‘Seventh Ring Road’ maintenance work commences under new contracts

The Minister of Public Works, Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, announced that the ministry is continuing its efforts to implement road maintenance projects across various areas, adhering strictly to quality assurance measures and international standards to develop advanced infrastructure.
Al-Mashaan highlighted that comprehensive maintenance work on the Seventh Ring Road has commenced under new contracts, with the ministry’s teams inspecting the area prior to initiating necessary repairs. She emphasized that maintenance work will prioritize the most affected areas before addressing less affected ones, with ongoing supervision and follow-up by dedicated ministry teams.
The road maintenance projects are a key component of the ministry’s strategic plan to enhance the road network and create a safe and sustainable environment for citizens and residents. These efforts align with the goals of urban development and the growing transportation needs of the population.
Al-Mashaan emphasized the ministry’s dedication to monitoring all stages of road project implementation, from design to completion, while strictly adhering to internationally recognized quality standards and technical specifications. This approach ensures the highest levels of performance and durability for the road network.
Importantly, Al-Mashaan stated that her directives emphasized the swift completion of maintenance work, following the recommendations of His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to maintaining and repairing the country’s infrastructure, which is the cornerstone of any nation’s economic vision.
Al-Mashaan emphasized the importance of coordination to address any outstanding issues related to road maintenance projects. She urged the executing companies to swiftly complete all work while ensuring the required quality and efficiency, in line with the approved technical specifications, and to adhere to the agreed-upon timetable.
Furthermore, Al-Mashaan praised the road maintenance and repair initiative as a top priority for Kuwait’s political leadership. She commended the directives of His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince, as well as their strong support for road maintenance projects. These efforts, she noted, will play a pivotal role in developing advanced infrastructure, aligned with the goals of the “New Kuwait 2035” plan.
Engineer Mahdi Al-Jassem, from the Road Supervision Authority of the General Authority for Roads and Land Transport, stated that the maintenance work involves brushing new asphalt layers after the completion of dirt works. He called on road users to cooperate with the relevant authorities to ensure the timely completion of the maintenance work.
