Security officer run over, drug suspects detained in Ahmadi police sweep

A young man has been detained at the Ahmadi Police Station after allegedly running over a security officer, while six other individuals were referred to the General Department for Drug Control on charges related to the possession and consumption of narcotics and alcohol.
According to a security source, all seven suspects are also facing charges for being under the influence of intoxicating substances in public and for possessing such substances. Several of them were additionally cited for traffic violations, including driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, reports Al-Anba daily.
Those referred to the General Department for Drug Control will undergo further investigation to determine the source of the drugs and alcohol found in their possession.
The arrests were made during a wide-scale security campaign carried out by the Public Security Sector under the directive of Major General Hamad Al-Munifi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Public Security Affairs. The field operation was supervised by Brigadier General Hussein Dashti, Assistant Director of Ahmadi Security.
The campaign targeted multiple areas, including Al-Hajan, Al-Julai’a, and Bnaider, and was conducted with the participation of personnel from the Kuwait Municipality. The operation led to the arrest of 12 expatriates for various violations, including absconding from sponsors and overstaying visas.
Authorities also removed 9 unauthorized food trucks and dismantled 8 illegal camps as part of the enforcement efforts.
