Secondary schools to be handed over to 12th grade exam committee

As part of preparations for the upcoming high school exams starting, 5th January 2025, the acting Assistant Undersecretary for General Education, Mansour Al-Dhafiri, outlined the procedure for the twelfth grade exam committees for the first academic period of the 2024/2025 academic year.

Al-Dhafiri noted that the school selected as the headquarters for the twelfth grade exam committee will be handed over to the committee’s acting chairman on Tuesday, 31st December, following the completion of the secondary transfer class exams.

Moreover, Al-Dhafiri stated that the “original” school Principal is responsible for preparing the examination halls before handing over the school to the designated committee chairman. The committee chairman will determine the number of supervisors required, with the first supervisor being designated as the “Deputy Committee Chairman.” This nomination will then be approved by the region’s general manager.

Al-Dhafiri stated that one of the Assistant Principals must remain at the original school to organize work and monitor the system and attendance of employees during the twelfth grade secondary school exams. The Examination and Student Affairs Department in the educational region will assign the required number of observers to each committee.

Furthermore, Al-Dhafiri pointed out that the heads of the examination committees will be assigned from Tuesday, the 31st of December, until Thursday, the 16th of January 2025, for a total duration of 15 working days.

Al-Dhafiri stressed the importance of not assigning anyone with a first- or second-degree relative in the twelfth grade of secondary school to the examination committees (as chair or member).

The assigned committee chair should use the school Principal’s office as their headquarters, with a nearby support room, and be granted full authority to use the school’s photocopiers, paper, and parking spaces.

It is also strictly prohibited for anyone to enter the examination committee except those authorized, the employees assigned to the committee, and the students being examined.
