Kuwait is bracing for scattered rain across various areas from Sunday through to dawn on Friday, the acting director of the Meteorological Department, Darrar Al-Ali, announced.
Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency, Al-Ali said that weather patterns, pressure distributions, and numerical models indicate that a high-pressure system currently affecting the country will gradually recede.
This will allow a surface low-pressure system from the southwest to advance and deepen, coinciding with an upper-level low-pressure system. The combination will bring relatively cold and humid air, increasing cloud cover with some cumulus formations.
Scattered rain, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, is expected on Monday and Tuesday, with heavier rainfall likely in southern and coastal areas from Wednesday evening through Thursday.
Horizontal visibility may decrease during rainfall, and fog is likely to form in some areas during the evening and early morning.
Winds will be southeasterly to variable, light to moderate in speed, occasionally becoming stronger. Daytime temperatures are expected to range between 17 and 20 degrees Celsius, while nighttime lows will be between 12 and 15 degrees Celsius.
Al-Ali said weather conditions are expected to gradually improve from Friday morning and urged the public to stay updated via the Meteorological Department’s official website, app, and social media channels.
