Scattered rain and dust expected as Kuwait braces for unstable weather

Director of the Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali, announced today that Kuwait will experience humid and cloudy weather conditions, with a slight chance for scattered rain, possibly accompanied by thunder, and light to moderate southeasterly winds, occasionally active, causing dust storms in open areas.

Speaking to KUNA, Al-Ali explained that current weather maps show the country is under the influence of an extension of the Indian monsoon low, bringing with it a hot and humid air mass, particularly along coastal areas.

This coincides with a cold air depression in the upper atmosphere, creating thermal convection that leads to the formation of low to medium clouds, interspersed with cumulus clouds and a chance of rainfall and thunderstorms.

Al-Ali added that from Friday through early next week, Kuwait will experience relatively hot and humid conditions during the day, and hot to very humid nights, with weather remaining unstable in some areas.
