Sahel expands with 40+ new services, English version, central notification system

Thirty-eight government entities using the unified e-services app “Sahel” participated in an extensive coordination workshop organized by the Government Application Executive Committee, aiming to enhance digital integration and streamline user procedures.

Held at the Ministry of Interior’s Information Systems Directorate, Committee Chairman Colonel Bashar Ibrahim emphasized the importance of facilitating user experience and advancing national digital service efforts. He called for ongoing coordination to address technical and procedural challenges, according to Al-Rai daily.

Engineer Tareq Al-Darbas, advisor to the Minister of State for Communications and committee member, said the workshop marked a crucial phase for launching integrated digital user journeys like the “Newborn Journey,” “Marriage Journey,” and “Resident Journey.” Over 91 million services have been completed via “Sahel” since its September 2021 launch, with user numbers now at 2.7 million.

Committee member Amina Abdel Rahim highlighted the need to accelerate digital transformation in line with Cabinet Resolution No. 135/6-2025, urging entities to submit monthly progress reports. Fellow member Fajr Al-Yassin noted that over 40 new services have been launched in the past six months, alongside infrastructure expansions, a central notification system, and the rollout of an English-language version.
