Russian President Vladimir Putin received US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff at the Kremlin on Wednesday, according to Russian state media.
The meeting comes just ahead of a US-imposed deadline to end the war in Ukraine.
The Russian news agency TASS confirmed the visit, stating that Witkoff had arrived in Moscow earlier in the day.
