‘Private sector vital for building a modern, integrated tourism system’

Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, said the private sector plays a fundamental role in advancing Kuwait’s tourism industry.

He stressed that strengthening cooperation with private entities is a priority and that such partnerships must be guided by a clear methodology and long-term strategy.

Speaking at meeting of the Supreme Tourism Committee at the Regency Hotel on Monday, Al-Mutairi said holding committee sessions in key tourist locations sends a strong message about the committee’s commitment to engaging directly with the private sector and translating the national tourism strategy into actionable steps.

During the meeting, which was held under his chairmanship, the minister noted that the committee had previously discussed a number of important initiatives, which have now been integrated into a unified vision for implementation and follow-up.

He emphasized that no strategy can succeed without continuous evaluation of events, including their organization, effectiveness, content, and presentation.

Al-Mutairi underscored the need for all planned tourism events to meet high professional standards and offer quality content capable of delivering a unique experience for visitors.

Information about upcoming activities will be available on the “Visit Kuwait” platform, including dates, locations, and full details to ensure a smooth and enriching visitor experience.

He added that the platform provides comprehensive information for citizens, residents, tourists, and all those interested in Kuwait’s tourism sector, contributing to the creation of a more integrated and distinctive tourism experience.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of ensuring that the transportation network aligns with Kuwait’s tourism vision, including the expansion of specialized electronic passenger-transport applications—both local and international—in accordance with Kuwaiti laws and regulations governing the operation of such companies.

Additionally, the committee reviewed items from previous meetings, discussed early preparations for national celebrations and their related events, and emphasized the vital role of the private sector in diversifying activities to reach all segments of society while adhering to tourism standards.
