In a positive development welcomed by the private sector and business community, the Public Authority for Manpower is canceling the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Society of Engineers, which had imposed lengthy procedures and fees on engineering certificate holders, Al Jarida newspaper reported.
During the last stage, many companies in the private sector and the Federation of Kuwaiti Industries continued holding meetings with the authority until a new, less complex and less expensive formula for the private sector was reached.
Private sector entities viewed this step as positive, reflecting constructive cooperation between government agencies for the public interest, as it would improve the business environment, increase the attractiveness of the labor market, and preserve expertise.
In this regard, sources noted that new regulations will be issued to organize this matter with flexible and easy-to-apply procedures, achieving the same goal without complications or financial burdens.
In the same context, the Federation of Kuwaiti Industries and private sector entities viewed this step as a positive initiative, opening up prospects for cooperation in the future, benefiting the economy.
