Prime Minister lauds Amir’s oversight of the implementation of strategic projects

His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah, Prime Minister, praised the close attention and continuous follow-up of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad to the implementation of strategic projects, as well as the guidance and support extended to government efforts.

He also commended the sustained and diligent work of the Ministerial Committee for Monitoring the Implementation of Major Development Projects, which culminated in the signing of the engineering, procurement and construction contract for Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port, reports Al-Anba daily.

His remarks came as he chaired the 40th meeting of the Ministerial Committee at Bayan Palace yesterday. He noted that the port project forms part of the comprehensive development drive being pursued at an accelerated pace, reflecting the state’s commitment to an institutional approach and to integrating planning with follow-up in order to achieve development outcomes that enhance the competitiveness of the national economy and meet citizens’ aspirations.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of continued coordination among committee members and all state entities to achieve the set strategic objectives with determination, pointing to tangible achievements, an expanding production base and positive transformations that are helping create an environment conducive to progress and ambition.

Committee members, in turn, expressed their appreciation to His Highness the Prime Minister for his patronage and participation in the signing ceremony of the executive contract for the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project earlier this week.

They also highlighted his keen interest in closely monitoring project implementation within a unified framework of government programs that prioritize sustainable national development, in line with the vision of His Highness the Amir.

The meeting reviewed progress reports from concerned government bodies on major development projects, including Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port, cooperation in the electricity sector, renewable energy development, low-carbon green waste recycling systems, housing development, environmental infrastructure for wastewater treatment plants, and efforts related to environmental protection and combating desertification.

Participants affirmed the continuation of coordinated efforts to enhance joint work in accordance with the aspirations of the political leadership.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Prime Minister’s Office Abdulaziz Al-Dakheel; Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ali; Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mishaan; Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Abdul Latif Al-Meshari; Director General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad; Head of the Fatwa and Legislation Department Counselor Salah Al-Majed; and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr. Adel Al-Zamel.
