Population snapshot of Kuwait’s demographic landscape in 2023

Recent official government statistics provide insight into Kuwait’s population dynamics as of the end of 2023. The total population stood at 4,859,595, with a significant portion consisting of expatriates, totaling 3,313,387.

Kuwaiti nationals accounted for 32% of the total population, as per data from the Public Authority for Civil Information. Notably, the expatriate community comprises various nationalities, with Indians and Egyptians being the most prominent, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Indians: Indians constituted the largest expatriate group, comprising 21% of the total population and 30% of all expatriates.

Egyptians: Egyptians followed closely, representing 13% of the total population and 19% of all expatriates.

Additionally, other nationalities contributed to Kuwait’s diverse demographic makeup:

  • Bangladeshis: 6% of the total population.
  • Filipinos: 5%.
  • Syrians: 3%.
  • Sri Lankans: 3%.
  • Saudi Arabians: 3%.
  • Nepalis: 2%.
  • Pakistanis: 2%.

These statistics underscore the multicultural fabric of Kuwait, reflecting a blend of diverse nationalities contributing to the country’s social and economic landscape.
