The Ministry of Health announced the launch of the first phase of the Kuwait National Population Health Survey (KNPHS), a key development project aligned with the country’s development plan.
This initiative falls under the pillar of promoting health and well-being for all, contributing to the objectives of the ‘New Kuwait Vision 2035’.
The Ministry of Health explained in a statement that the health survey is a scientific method designed to collect comprehensive data on the health status of a population.
Moreover, the survey’s goal is to provide a detailed picture of individual health conditions and to better understand disease patterns. The data gathered will serve as a valuable database for formulating future health policies aimed at improving public health.
The Ministry of Health added that the national health survey will involve collecting samples from 12,000 participants of all ages and nationalities, selected automatically from 8,000 family units across various governorates of Kuwait.
The procedure will involve wherein the head of each selected family will receive a notification via the ‘Sahel’ or ‘My Identity’ applications. If this method is not feasible, the head of the family will be contacted through the Ministry of Health hotline (151).
In cases where phone contact is not possible, a qualified team from the Ministry will visit the home to provide the family with the necessary information related to the survey.
The Ministry explained that after contacting and coordinating with the head of the family, the survey questionnaire will be conducted using smart devices, along with some related examinations.
The examinations will include measuring height and weight, oral and dental checks, vision tests, blood pressure measurement, respiratory system efficiency assessment, and some laboratory tests like cholesterol and blood percentage analysis.
The entire process, including the questionnaire and examinations, will take not more than 2 hours. Results will then be delivered through the ‘Kuwait Seha’ or ‘Sahel’ applications.
