Political leadership gives priority to children as true investment for future

Kuwait’s political leaders consider early childhood education a core priority given its importance towards future national investment and development plans, Education Minister Jalal Al-Tabtabie said on Sunday.

The education ministry firmly backs any initiative or program that aims to improve the quality of early childhood education, the minister was cited as saying in a statement, as he feted the winners of a children’s literary contest organized by his ministry.

On the purpose behind such literary contests, he said these activities aim to encourage reading amongst young children to enable them a chance to hone their skills in a bid to mold a future of “knowledge and competence,” added the statement.

He went on to acknowledge the efforts of nursery teachers and their role towards “instilling” a culture of reading and knowledge in young children, hailing the scope of participation that the contest had garnered, in addition to the diverse categories it featured to support early childhood learning.
