Police officer sentenced 7 years in prison for assaulting Bangladeshi man

The Court of Cassation has upheld a seven-year prison sentence for a police officer from the Ministry of Interior. The officer was convicted of assaulting a Bangladeshi man, leaving him paralyzed.
Reports by Al-Qabas newspaper indicate the incident stemmed from the officer’s anger over the Bangladeshi man’s car wash service. The Public Prosecution alleges the officer subjected the victim to a brutal beating.
These injuries resulted in permanent disabilities, leaving the victim with at least a 50% reduction in his overall bodily capacity.
