PAI tightens industrial oversight, revokes licenses of 23 plots

. . . across 11 areas citing violations

The Public Authority for Industry (PAI) has issued a series of decisions ordering the withdrawal and closure of 23 industrial plots across 11 industrial areas, to strengthen regulatory compliance and address violations of industrial land-use regulations.

The measures are part of ongoing efforts to enforce strict oversight of industrial zones and ensure that licensed plots are used in accordance with approved regulations.

According to the authority, the decisions included the termination of contracts and withdrawal of three industrial plots in the Al-Sulaibiya and South Amghara industrial expansion areas.

The violations identified included subdivision of plots, illegal stockpiling outside designated boundaries, establishing unlicensed workers’ housing, and using the sites as car garages or leaving them idle without development.

The authority also terminated a temporary license and withdrew work sites from two companies operating in the West Shuaiba area, citing breaches such as unauthorized subleasing and improper storage of materials and equipment, which were deemed inconsistent with the nature of the granted licenses.

In a wider enforcement action, the authority ordered the closure of 18 additional industrial plots across nine areas, including Al-Rai, Amghara Industrial, Mina Abdullah Industrial, Shuaiba West Industrial, Al-Fahaheel, Al-Mustaqbal, Subhan Industrial, Al-Mirqab Industrial, and Shuwaikh Industrial.

Violations included expired licenses, non-operational plots, construction without permits, and encroachment beyond designated boundaries.

The Public Authority for Industry stressed that affected entities have been granted a one-month grace period from the date of closure to rectify violations and remove infractions. It warned that failure to comply will result in stricter legal measures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
