PAFN shuts down Bneid Al-Qar eatery, issues 10 violations in Ardhiya
The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition has intensified its inspection campaign across food establishments, shutting down a restaurant in Bneid Al-Qar after detecting serious health violations and issuing 10 violation reports against shisha cafés and businesses across the Ardhiya Industrial Area.
The authority said the violations were recorded during joint inspection tours conducted by its Capital and Farwaniya Governorate inspection teams in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Interior and Public Authority for Manpower.
In Bneid Al-Qar, inspectors detected food being offered for sale despite being unfit for human consumption and contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. The restaurant was also found to be handling food under unsanitary conditions and failing to meet required technical and health standards, raising concerns over possible contamination.
Other violations included poor compliance with hygiene requirements, dirt and live insects inside the facility, operating after the expiry of its health license and workers operating without valid health certificates.
Meanwhile, an inspection campaign targeting shisha cafés in the Ardhiya Industrial Area resulted in 10 violation reports. Five reports were issued against food handlers found working without health certificates, while another five were issued against business owners for employing workers who lacked the required certificates.
PAFN said the inspections form part of ongoing joint monitoring efforts aimed at ensuring food establishments comply with health and safety regulations. The authority stressed that legal action would continue against violators, describing the inspections as an important measure to protect consumers and strengthen oversight of Kuwait’s food establishments.
