Empowering Kuwait youth and developing their capabilities by involving them in various national programs presented and supported by Kuwait’s Youth Public Authority (YPA) comes at the top of the Authority’s priorities, YPA Director General Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi said on Tuesday.

He said in a press statement today that as YPA celebrates the International Youth Day on August 12, the Authority encourages young people to join volunteer work in new various environments, seeking new experiences and getting the appreciation of people, especially during the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic time, as Kuwaiti youth presented the most wonderful role models in serving their country.

YPA is working to launch a youth academy specialized in volunteer work during the upcoming period, Al-Mutairi said. YPA carried out several remote activities during the partial curfew periods, by providing daily training workshops on different and varied topics for young people, he affirmed.

Developmental skills, sports, psychological, religious, life coaching, financial, technological, health, cultural, economic, arts and designing, fighting rumors, national awareness, leadership and other activities were included, he said. Some 154 lecturers participated in presenting these workshops, as they provided more than 207 hours of live broadcasting for more than 6,200 beneficiaries, he said.
