Local Flavor Advertising Company kickstarted a national campaign called “yellow box”, which is the common intersection area at the traffic lights, as it contributes to the smooth flow of traffic in all directions. The campaign is to be introduced in cases of obstruction of traffic flow, which leads to accidents, a violation punishable by the local traffic law, and is applicable to all intersections.

The Director General of the General Administration of Relations and Security Media at the Ministry of Interior, Major General Tawhid Abdullah Al-Kandari, confirmed the keenness of the security institution in cooperating with initiatives aimed at eliminating traffic jams and enhancing the flow of traffic across the country. The official applauded the initiative as the campaign is meant to spread the culture of how to deal with the “yellow box”, the name given to the common intersection area at traffic lights to create the smooth flow of traffic.

On the other hand, Assistant Undersecretary for Maintenance Engineering Sector at the Ministry of Public Works Abdulaziz Al-Sabah said that the ministry is working hard to reduce traffic congestion by assisting the General Directorate of Traffic in the Ministry of Interior, stressing that traffic problems in Kuwait need everyone’s solidarity.

The “Dabdoub” application provided its support for sponsoring the campaign as part of its goals aimed at social participation, specifically in targeted awareness programmes, considering that the campaign is a means of raising the level of responsibility for everyone. According to the report, eliminating traffic accidents will not only bring a sense of duty to everyone, led by officials in different sectors and public interest, but it will only be achieved by intensifying traffic awareness campaigns.

In addition, the Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Wafra International Investment Company, Abdullatif Shaker Al-Othman, praised the campaign, noting that the “yellow box” aims to facilitate and not obstruct traffic. Meanwhile, managing partner at Local Flavor Advertising, Khaled Al-Sayer, said that the campaign aims to ensure that there are no traffic jams, especially at peak times, and thus contribute to the smooth flow of traffic and reduce the effects of road closures resulting from traffic congestion. He  noted that the campaign aims to compel drivers not to enter intersections despite crossing priority if the signal is green.
