The Civil Service Commission announced the suspension of work in ministries and government agencies for a period of three days, starting from today, Friday, until Sunday, to mourn the death of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the sisterly United Arab Emirates.

The Diwan said in a press statement that based on the order of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and based on the government’s statement issued today regarding the official mourning announcement, the Service Bureau announced the suspension of work for three days and flags at half-mast for a period of 40 days.

The (Civil Service) clarified that accordingly, the Bureau announced the suspension of work next Sunday, and today Friday and Saturday will be considered official holidays in which all official departments and government agencies will be suspended, provided that work will start on Monday, corresponding to the sixteenth of this month.(May 16)

He pointed out that the government agencies, bodies and agencies of a special nature of work are determined whose holidays are determined by the authorities concerned with their affairs and taking into account the public interest
