Around 25,565 transactions were carried out in the first seven working days since the launch of the Public Authority for Manpower’s (PAM) new online system on January 12th, Al Rai reported.

According to the statistics, among the various transactions that were processed were the cancellation of work permits for 1774 expatriates during the first week since the launch of website, with 1086 expatriates having their work permits permanently cancelled due to their departure from the country, 127 work permits terminated as the worker died, 561 work permits ended as the expats were stranded abroad, and their residency expired without renewal. In addition, 10,461 expatriates had their work permits renewed.

The statistic also revealed that 24,639 companies benefited from the online services since the launch, while 523 transactions were for vehicle registering, in addition to 4,638 visitors printed out signed certificates on files, 720 printing of clearance certificates, and 261 statement of lists of registered workers.

This was followed by visitors completing 3,301 accreditation of academic qualifications, 3,637 renewal notices for national workers, 112 national labor registration notices, and 41 people entering their phone numbers who are authorized to sign on behalf of the company.

PAM stated that the launch of the new system comes as part of an initiative to gradually launch a variety of online services and urged business owners to submit requests through the website only and send inquiries through the website inquiry service.
