During random ID checks in Farwaniya, police came across two women who did not have any identification papers with them. The women, along with a three-year-old daughter of one of the women, were detained at the local police station.

On investigation police found that the women did not have valid residency permits and were staying illegally in Kuwait. When the security authorities grew suspicious about how the women managed to live in the country, they obtained permission from the public prosecutor and raided the residence of the women.

In the apartment, police found two other women who were also living illegally after having run away from their sponsors. The women were surviving by indulging in immoral activities and that they also helped to abort fetuses in return for money. Police also found a fetus preserved in a glass jar along with various instruments used by the women to carry out abortions.

The women were referred to the concerned authorities to complete investigations, and the fetus was sent to the forensic laboratory for further tests.
