Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Hamad Al-Ali and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Ahmed Al-Mansour announced their resignations from the government.

Al-Rai quoting the ministers said, “Based on our oath, which obligates us to be honest with ourselves and the political leadership and the great Kuwaiti people, we see that in light of the current political conditions, and in the face of the heavy responsibility entrusted to us it is impossible to work and achieve the reforms and development that the Kuwaiti people deserve, especially after the general atmosphere has become full of quarrels and turmoil in the general political scene.”

They added, “this sad reality came as a result of historical accumulations and failures, at the level of the executive and legislative authorities, and we do not exaggerate if we say that while we strive to work and achieve, unfortunately, achieving reform has become almost impossible, especially in light of this atmosphere.”

They went on to say, “We swore to serve Kuwait and its people but the opportunity to serve the people of Kuwait was not there, and accordingly we decided to resign and give the opportunity to others at this stage.”
