The general hygiene and road works departments in the municipality’s branches in the governorates conducted an extensive cleaning campaign in all areas.

The Director of the Department of Cleanliness and Road Works in the Hawally Municipality Branch told Al-Rai that the amount of garbage collected from the streets has decreased by 70 percent compared to previous years, noting that the Arabian Gulf Street was cleaned, starting from the Third Ring Road to the Messila Bridge, and the green areas were cleaned also includimg the parking lots, celebration venues, and streets overlooking the Gulf.

He added that the administration removed 600 bags full.of mixed waste, and provided 2,000 additional garbage bags, 5 large bulldozers, 2 small size, 4 trailers, 4 forklifts, and 300 manual sweepers.

For his part, Director of the Department of Cleanliness and Roads Works in the Jahra Municipality branch, Fahad Al-Qarifa, told Al-Rai that a plan has been drawn up to divide the governorate’s regions.

He added 3 cleaning companies took part in the cleaning campaign in the interior, open areas and farms, noting that 700 garbage bags full of waste have been collected from the area in addition to 1,200 bags from Sulaibiya and 900 from spring camp sites.

In turn, the Director of the Department of Hygiene and Road Works in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipality Nawaf Al-Mutairi told Al-Rai that the administration removed 200 bags from green spaces, car parks and celebration venues, and provided 100 manual sweepers.
