In his address at the closing ceremony of the Youth Empowerment for the Future (Wa’ed) project, Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Youth, Meshaal Al-Subaie, emphasized that the project serves as an exceptional platform for training and preparing young individuals for practical life and that by engaging them in field work, the project imparts crucial skills to the youth.

Al-Subaie expressed the authority’s commitment to supporting all ideas and initiatives aimed at nurturing the capabilities of young people and making productive use of their time, especially during the summer period, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Elaborating on the subject, he said “Wa’ed” plays a pivotal role in providing young individuals valuable insight into the future, recognizing the disparity between the study phase and the work phase in a trainee’s life.

Al-Subaie also praised the commendable efforts of the Voluntary Work Department and their collaboration with “Wa’ed” officials, which led to the successful accomplishment of the project’s objectives.

Similarly, Project Director Sharifa Al-Bannai lauded the project’s management by a dedicated team of Kuwaiti youth volunteers. She shared that the project facilitated the training of 148 Kuwaiti high school students in 50 different workplaces, with the involvement of 40 employers from both the public and private sectors.

Al-Bannai disclosed that the comprehensive training spanned 20 working days, encompassing 80 hours of skill-building sessions. The trainees participated in three distinct training courses during this period.

She highlighted the enthusiasm of the youth in benefiting from this unparalleled experience in “Wa’ed,” which was made possible through the joint efforts and cooperation of numerous state institutions and national companies.

Their support significantly contributed to the project’s success and the fulfillment of its objectives. Al-Bannai also expressed gratitude for the backing of the Youth Authority and the Namaa Charitable Foundation for their instrumental support in making the project a reality.
