His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad, embarked on a journey to the United Kingdom along with his official delegation. This visit comes in response to an invitation extended by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

During this visit, His Highness will preside over and participate in the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Kuwait Investment Office in London. The visit underscores the ongoing strength of historical Kuwaiti-British relations, which have been solidified over the course of more than 120 years, reports Al-Jarida daily.

These relations have encompassed various pivotal events and have been marked by political, military, economic, and cultural alignments that have proven beneficial to both nations.

Concurrent with this milestone, Nigel Evans, Deputy Speaker of the British House of Commons, has applauded the enduring and multifaceted connections between the two countries.

He highlighted the decades-long history of robust cooperation between the United Kingdom and Kuwait, emphasizing their strong working relationship. Evans noted the significance of the 70th anniversary celebration of the Kuwait Investment Office’s founding as a historic testament to the bilateral ties.

Nigel Evans remarked that the relationship has been significantly fostered by former Kuwaiti Ambassador Khaled Al-Duwaisan, who tirelessly represented his country’s interests over a considerable period. Evans underscored that the path of strong collaboration between the two nations continues under the leadership of Kuwait’s new ambassador, Bader Al-Awadi and pointed out that both ambassadors have played instrumental roles in strengthening British-Kuwaiti ties, particularly in promoting trade and investment.

Evans expressed admiration for the tangible results of these efforts, citing the considerable growth in bilateral trade over the past year, even in the face of challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. He interpreted this growth as a promising indicator of a positive future for both countries.

The visit of His Highness the Crown Prince and his official delegation to Britain serves as another significant chapter in the long-standing Kuwaiti-British relations.

Furthermore, within the context of British-Gulf relations, discussions for a trade agreement were initiated between the UK and Gulf countries, aiming to enhance mutual trade, provide consumers with diverse options, and open up investment opportunities across sectors such as food, manufacturing, and renewable energy.

The visit of HH the Crown Prince to the UK epitomizes the continued growth of Kuwaiti-British relations, rooted in history and poised for a promising future across various domains of collaboration.
