The General Traffic Department announced that the technical inspection of all vehicles will resume work as of Sunday, January 1, 2021 from 8 am to 4 pm by the departments in all governorates, an Arabic daily reported.
The vehicle inspection has remained suspended to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Ministry of Interior (MOI) allowed all citizens and expats to renew their driving licenses that expired from March until early June 2020.
MoI announced in June that all vehicles will be exempted from technical examination, specifically, those whose registration have ended since March 12 and until the end of the current year 2020, in accordance with Ministerial Resolution No. (443) for the year 2020. This is also provided that their insurance policy is valid for a year.
