The Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan H E Dr. Aloev Bakhromjon confirmed that a Kuwaiti delegation will participate in monitoring the conduct of the presidential elections next October in his country, among a large number of international observers, explaining that the participation of Kuwaiti representatives in the elections will contribute to the development and strengthening of friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Kuwait. 

Ambassador Bakhromjon added that over the last five years, after the presidential elections were held on December 4, 2016,  many changes occurred in the lives of people, the state, society, and national electoral legislation. 

Ambassador Bakhromjon said that the distance between Kuwait and Uzbekistan was very suitable for trade exchange operations between the two countries, as direct flights between them do not take more than 3 hours, and this is an important factor for expanding trade, pointing out that since the opening of direct flights between the two countries last month there has been a surge in tourists from Kuwait.

A number of reputable international organizations and experts also referred to the important reforms that were implemented during that period to advance the welfare of citizens in the social, political and economic fields. He predicted that after increasing the number of political parties the competition between the parties will intensify significantly during the upcoming elections

A few select invitees spoke on their experiences during their previous visits to Uzbekistan. Among them Reaven D’Souza managing editor of The Times Kuwait pointed out that under the present leadership a new Uzbekistan was emerging that was looking for peace in the neighborhood with a very strong development agenda. He pointed out at the recent high level summit held in the capital where foreign ministers of almost 44 countries and 30 international organisations participated indicating that Uzbekistan playing a leading role in bringing peace and stability in the region.

Dr Ameera Hassan,  UN-Habitat Programme Manager, who visited Uzbekistan last month praised the country profusely for their hospitality and also the natural beauty as well as the progress and development made by the country during the past 30 years.
