On behalf of the United Nations Country team and on my personal behalf as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Kuwait, I would like to take this opportunity to extend congratulations to His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait, HIs HIghness the Crown Prince, and to His HIghness the Prime Minister, on the occasion of the National and Liberation Days of Kuwait.
We wish to confirm our strong commitment to supporting the Kuwaiti people in their aspirations and efforts towards sustainable development, climate action and prosperity that leaves no one behind.
It is very important that while we remember the past we also look at the present peaceful development of relations between the two neighboring countries Kuwait and Iraq. I wish to commend Kuwait for lending its hand with peace and development support to its brotherly neighbor Iraq by organizing the Iraq Investment Conference in 2018, in cooperation with the United Nations and World Bank.
Kuwait is a peaceful country respected for its impartiality and working with us at the United Nations and Regional Bodies to promote peace, stability and development while maintaining its security by venturing good cooperation with key international and regional players.
