The head of the Federation of Fresh Dairy Producers, Abdul Hakim Al-Ahmad, said the only way to correct the course livestock sector and support the animal breeders in the hands of the government by satisfying the needs of the animal breeders by making the strategic stock available, including fodder of all kinds, such as concentrated feed, barley, corn and soy, and full feed such as dry alfalfa, in sufficient quantities for at least one or two years, to ensure the continuity of local production of livestock, and to enhance food security.”
Al-Ahmad told Al-Qabas, the government must pay attention to animal breeding in the country, and to ensure the provision of a minimum level of highly quality veterinary services of international standards in the field of detection of animal viruses, response and reporting of infections of trans-boundary animal diseases, and the application of the Law on Control of Infectious Animal Diseases through epidemiological investigation programs.
