Kuwait’s response to rescue calls and aiding people in need all over the globe is highly appreciated and endorsed, the Resident Representative for United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Afghanistan Abduallah Al-Dardari said earlier on Sunday. Kuwait is keen on being present in all international humanitarian venues and activities in support of refugees and people in need, he added in remarks to KUNA, following a meeting with Kuwait Red Crescent Society’s (KRCS) Vice Chairman Anwar Al-Hasawi, at the society’s headquarters in Kuwait.

He expressed his appreciation to KRCS role in supporting people suffering from natural disasters, and working to alleviate their humanitarian sufferings.
He hailed its continuous coordination with international companies and organizations in the humanitarian field.

He informed his accompanying delegation during the meeting of the size of humanitarian programs implemented by KRCS at the regional and international levels, as well as its latest contributions to the Afghani people. The UN official called on rescuing the Afghanis and intensively working to offer them their needs of food, health and educational services, as they are in extreme need for support more than any time before.

The Afghanis are suffering from an severe shortage of food and medical equipment add medications, as well as other needs, he affirmed.

Meanwhile, Al-Hasawi added in remarks to KUNA his happiness of Al-Dardari’s visit, to be briefed of KRCS activities and achievements of regionally and internationally. He praised the UNDP in Afghanistan, offering aid and rescue to the people there.

The meeting also tackled the aid offered to afflicted people and those in need, especially offered to the Afghani people in cooperation with humanitarian organizations and Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRC), he said.

KRCS has a number of projects and activities in favor of people in need in various parts of the world, including offering food, education, medical treatment, and medications, Al-Hasawi added. He called on everyone to support such humanitarian efforts conducted by society. – KUNA
