On the occasion of the 61st anniversary of Kuwait National Day and 31st anniversary of Kuwait Liberation Day, on behalf of the UN-Habitat GCC Kuwait team, we extend our greetings to the leadership, Government and people of Kuwait.

We also take this opportunity to remember the sacrifice of the martyrs who lost their lives to restore their country’s freedom in 1991. Throughout its history, Kuwait has remained a torch of liberty, a humanitarian center dedicated to helping the needy in many regions of the world, whilst ensuring the dignity of its people by building a sustainable urban development.

This unique Arab country inspires many nations of the world with its humanitarian actions; the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and the Kuwait Red Crescent work with the NGOs relentlessly in helping other nations build a prosperous, sustainable future.

Kuwait has also taken concrete actions to help many countries facing crises during these pandemic times and at the same time succeeded in building megaprojects, ensuring prosperous lives to future generations.

The UN-Habitat GCC Kuwait office takes this opportunity to wish everyone in Kuwait a Happy National Day, and to renew our commitment to working together with the Kuwaiti government for realizing the New Kuwait 2035 vision.

God bless the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al Sabah, the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and all people of Kuwait.

H.E. Dr. Ameera Alhassan
Head of UN-Habitat GCC Kuwait Office
