On behalf of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the British people, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, to His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah, and to all Kuwaitis during the celebrations of Kuwait’s National Day and Liberation Day.
The UK has always enjoyed a strong and trusting friendship with Kuwait, from before the Treaty of 1899 right up to the present day. I am delighted at our continued close cooperation in so many fields, including trade, investment, education, healthcare, defense and security.
After a difficult two years, the UK is looking forward to welcoming Kuwaitis back to London and beyond in record numbers to study, work, invest and enjoy our countryside, beaches and cultural activities. It makes me proud when I hear that so many Kuwaitis regard the UK as their second home.
