The United Arab Emirates’ sand portrait of His Highness the Amir, granted to Kuwait on the occasion of its 58th National Day, has been officially inducted into the Guinness Book of Records as the largest sand image.
Titled ‘Prince of Humanity’, the image of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al- Sabah covers an area of more than 170,000 square feet and can be seen from space.It was dug up at Dubai’s Al-Qudra Lake, taking an all-Emirati group of youngsters more than 2,400 hours to complete.
In an earlier tweet announcing the gift, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum said “the love of Kuwait and the people of Kuwait is etched into our land… in our hearts… in our history.”
