Kuwaiti MPs Abdulkareem Al-Kandari and Al-Humaidi Al- Subaiee began a joint interpellation against His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Tuesday.

The two lawmakers submitted separate grilling motions and His Highness the Prime Minister agreed to discuss them together in accordance with Constitution and article 137 of the National Assembly’s bylaw.

Article 137 allows a combination of interpellation motions if they are similar in contents. Al-Kandari is accusing His Highness the Prime Minister of mismanagement during the coronavirus pandemic, budget deficit, and violating Article 39 of the Constitution.

Al-Subaiee said in his motion that His Highness the Prime Minister failed to protect oil wealth, failed to punish those who violated public funds, and ignored reports of the National Assembly and Audit Bureau, in addition to failure to address shortcomings committed by the previous government.
