The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Friday announced that two persons died as a result of coronavirus infection.
Ministry of Health said in a statement one of the deceased was a 78-year-old Arab national who came from Europe. He was infected with coronavirus and suffered a heart attack that caused his death, it added in a press release.
The other person, a 58-year-old Asian, was already suffering from heart and kidney diseases, it said.
It expressed condolences for families of the deceased, who were receiving treatment at state hospitals.
The number of registered coronavirus cases in the UAE was 140, of the 31 recovered.
