Elon Musk stated that Twitter’s blue checkmark subscription will be relaunched on 29 November, slightly behind its initial timeline for bringing back service on the social media platform.

Adding that in the new version, changing the verified name will result in the loss of the blue tick, until the name is confirmed by Twitter after meeting its terms of service.

Previously, the blue tick mark was reserved for the verified accounts of politicians, celebrities, journalists and other public figures. But with the subscription option available, anyone willing to pay can get this subscription, as this feature was rolled out earlier this week to help Twitter boost revenue. On Friday, Twitter paused its recently announced $8 blue checkmark subscription service as fake accounts proliferated, while this change came one week after Musk acquired the social media company in a $44 billion deal.
