The Assistant Undersecretary for Private Medical Services Affairs at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Fatima Al-Najjar, announced that the tripartite committee consisting members from the Ministry of Health represented by the Health Licensing Department and the Medicines Inspection Department, Ministry of Commerce and Public Authority for Manpower has administratively closed a private medical center in the Salmiya.
A local Arabic daily added, the committee members raided the health facility after receiving a complaint. During the raid a cleaning worker was caught red-handed operating a laser device. This is in addition to several other violations including confiscation of expired medicines which were found on the premises.
Dr. Al-Najjar indicated that the matter will be referred to the Public Prosecution and the Medical Responsibility Authority to take the necessary legal measures
