The traffic departments in the governorates yesterday morning were busy as visitors queued to renew their vehicle licenses and their expired insurances, particularly those which expired from March 12, and without a technical review of the vehicles, reports Al Rai daily.

In addition, market licenses were also renewed without payment of fines for delays during the mentioned period as all work was suspended in departments under a curfew to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

The new Jahra Traffic Department building witnessed a gathering of many citizens and expats, who were committed to following the health guidelines and maintaining social distancing.  The department has made preparations for ensuring health measures in line with the cabinet decisions was followed. The renewal of 220 vehicle licenses and 42 market licenses was completed, until yesterday’s end, according to the procedures swiftly.

Fees were paid by KNET and cash was not accepted. The renewal of licenses and insurance is optional for those whose insurance ended from last March 12 and without the technical checkup of the vehicle for citizens and the expats until the plan for return to normal life, which is decided by the Council of Ministers.
