A Trade delegation comprising of representatives from 28 companies from the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Pakistan visited Kuwait from 8-9 February to showcase their products and hold business meetings.

The two day exhibition of Pakistani products was held in the Exhibition Hall of Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The exhibition showcased high-quality Pakistani products in various categories of Sports Goods, Surgical Instruments, Rice, Leather Products, Gloves & Safety Gears and Bee Keeping Gears.

 

The visit commenced with an official meeting held between the delegations of the two Chambers, where Mr. Fahad Yaqoob Al Jouan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of KCCI and Mr. Wahub Jahangir, Senior Vice President SCCI led their respective delegations.

In his speech, Mr. Al Jouan appreciated the historic cordial ties between Kuwait and Pakistan. He emphasised that the volume of trade didn’t commensurate with the true potential that exist between the two countries and reiterated that the economic cooperation could be expanded in multitude areas of cooperation.

He also hoped that this exhibition as well as the delegation level talks would help in further increasing commercial ties between Pakistani and Kuwaiti companies.

Mr. Wahub Jahangir, the head of Pakistani delegation, thanked the Kuwaiti authorities for the warm hospitality and expressed his satisfaction at the arrangements made for the meetings and the exhibition.

Ambassador H.E Malik Muhammad Farooq also conveyed his gratitude to KCCI, especially Mr. Fahad Yaqoob Al Jouan and his team for making this visit a successful visit. He commended the quality of products displayed by the visiting business delegation. The Ambassador also appreciated the facilitation and cooperation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kuwait.

The meeting concluded with the signing of an MoU between KCCI and SCCI, which aimed at strengthening bilateral economic cooperation between the two Chambers. The two-day exhibition caught attention of the Kuwaiti and local business community.
