Astronomer Adel Al-Saadoun said that today, Saturday, marks the beginning of the Spring season. In a statement to Kuna Saadoun said that according to the seasons of the year and the perpendicularity of the sun to the equator night and day are generally equal on the Earth.
Al-Saadoun added that during the previous period, the sun was perpendicular to the Tropic of Southern Capricorn on December 22, which is located at latitude 23.5 south of the equator, and this is what caused winters in the northern hemisphere.
He stated that the sun will continue to ascend day after day until it perpendicularly to the Tropic of Cancer, which is located at a latitude of 23.5 north of the equator on June 21, when the summer season begins.
