As soon as the “Winter Wonderland Kuwait” project announced the opening reservation for entry tickets, social networking sites spread across the country offered tickets for sale at prices double the face value.

Some of these accounts, according to a local Arabic daily, turned the expected project in Kuwait into a profit making machinery by offering ticket sales on what is known as the black market, since the selling price offered by some social media accounts reached 40 dinars, which means many times more the official price of 5 dinars.

The public was taken by surprise and some members of the public called on the authorities to intervene, since some book tickets for several days and then sell them at double the price, while those who wish to visit the wonderland have no option but to buy through these accounts.

Some suggested that entrance tickets be issued bearing the names of the visitors, as is the case with tickets for concerts and international football matches.
