State Minister for Services and National Assembly Affairs Mubarak Al-Harees suspended three officials in the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and formed a committee headed by the Fatwa and Legislation Department to pursue an investigation into these officials’ involvement for allegedly causing the country an estimated loss of millions in Kuwaiti dinars by failing to perform their duties, reported a local daily.

He said these officials failed to provide the Fatwa and Legislation Department with the documents related to the case before the concerned court issued its ruling leading to DGCA to suffer a loss of KD 8.5 million as per a judicial ruling. The suspended officials include an assistant undersecretary, a department director and a section head who will be summoned soon by the Fatwa and Legislation Department for investigation.

According to reports, Al-Harees does not tolerate wastage of public money, and there is no place for laggards and anyone found neglecting their duties will be held accountable regardless of his position.
