Three Kuwaiti parliament members began Tuesday a grilling against Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Saud Al-Harbi. Two grilling motions, one from MP Al-Humaidi Al-Subai and the other from MPs Khalil Abul and Ouda Al-Ruwaiee were combined into one and the minister was answering them.

Al-Subai is accusing Al-Harbi of failing to abide by regulations of Council of Ministers and Civil Services Commission (CSC) regarding priority of employment for Kuwaiti citizens. He is also accusing the Minister of failing to adopt proper decisions during the coronavirus pandemic crisis.

Abul and Al-Ruwaiee said Al-Harbi stalled implementation of online education, mismanagement and causing confusion among Ministry of Education’s departments over Kuwait online education platform. They also accused him of undermining the private education system, adopting decisions without considering quality criteria, further harming the education prospects of students, delay in announcing scholarships as well as failing to issue university degree for stateless despite completing their studies.
