The Deputy Director General for the Projects Sector Affairs in the Kuwait Municipality Eng Nadia Al-Shraideh said a number of concerned authorities held a meeting Wednesday to discuss the conditions of Mubarakiya markets after last week’s fire –that devastated everything beyond recognition.
A local Arabic daily said during the meeting several recommendations were put forward to the Council of Ministers, which included the following:
* Forming a working group under the umbrella of the Municipality or the Ministry of Finance with the participation of all concerned parties (the municipality, the Ministry of Finance, the National Council) to follow up on the matter until its completion.
* Assigning the National Council to rehabilitate and restore the shops and provide a budget for this until the shops are handed over to their owners.
* Approval of the vision presented by the Ministry of Finance to fully develop the area affected by the fire.
