By the end of this year, residents who hold “family residency” will not be able to stay outside the country for more than 6 months, because their residency will be forfeited.

This is what well-informed security sources revealed to a local Arabic daily explaining that the General Administration of Residency Affairs in the Ministry of Interior decided to approve the cancellation of the residencies of those under Article 18 campaign who have stayed outside the country for more than 6 months, starting from next November 1, meaning that whoever left the country before May 1, must return before this date.

The sources indicated a tendency to adopt the same procedure with the holders of Article 22 (joining a family) and 24 (the same guarantor), to take effect before the end of this year.

The sources indicated that from a humanitarian point of view the Ministry of Interior, since the beginning of the Corona pandemic, has allowed all residents abroad to renew their residence permits “online” and to stay outside the country for an open period, but after the improvement of health conditions in the country, there is no longer any justification for continuing with these exceptional measures.
