The General Administration of Civil Aviation announced Sunday that the projects at the Kuwait International Airport are proceeding according to the plan, indicating that the completion rate of the third package project reached 71 percent.
This came in a statement made by the Deputy Director-General for Planning and Projects Affairs Saad Al-Otaibi to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) after a field tour by a delegation from the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development in the presence of Director-General of Civil Aviation Yousef Al-Fawzan and Secretary-General of the Secretariat Dr. Khaled Mahdi, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Al-Otaibi explained that the “Package 3” project consists of four main phases, the first is the development of the southern area at Kuwait International Airport, the second is the construction of the new third runway, and the third is the re-establishment and development of the eastern runway, in addition to the fourth phase, which includes the construction of the new control tower.
He expects the completion of the new control tower next July, indicating that the work of the third runway is also expected to be completed in August.
