Yesterday the Zakat House opened the “Zakat Fiqh” forum for zakat agencies and funds in the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. Representatives from zakat agencies from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, and Kuwait participated in the opening while the representatives from the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain participated through Zoom. The forum will be held until tomorrow, Wednesday 15th March.

During his opening speech, Dr. Majed Al-Azmi, the Acting Director General of the Zakat House, expressed the House’s commitment to the law of zakat obligation and its positive impact on societies. He stated that the House is working diligently to host many conferences and seminars that bring together workers in the zakat agencies to promote constructive cooperation.

The aim of this forum is to discuss the conditions for the obligation of zakat, zakat on a good loan, zakat on shares, zakat on bonds, funds, portfolios, investment sukuk, zakat on investment accounts, zakat al-fitr, zakat banks, and other important aspects of zakat jurisprudence.

At the end of his speech, Dr. Majid Al-Azmi thanked all the attendees for their participation in enriching the activities of the forum, hoping that everyone would benefit from it in developing work within their institutions and agencies in the GCC countries, each in their specialization.
