The Friday sermon and prayers at mosques will be suspended from today until further notice, based on the directives of the health authorities in the country and on the fatwa of the Ministry’s Issuing Authority.
“Everyone must pray in their homes,” the ministry said in a statement. The Minister of Health, Dr. Basil Al-Sabah, stated that the fatwa of the Ministry of Awqaf states that it is permissible not to go to mosques to perform Friday prayers in these circumstances.
