The Army Chief of Staff announced that a minor technical defect occurred in one of the Caracal planes while it was flying inside the training area of Ali Al-Salem Air Base.

Its crew dealt with the situation according to the procedures followed, and the plane landed safely without human or material damage, reports a local Arabic daily.

The Chief of Staff said in a press statement, “On the morning of last Thursday, corresponding to December 8, 2022, during one of the usual scheduled training flights for Air Force aircraft, a minor technical defect occurred in one of the Caracal aircraft while it was flying inside the training area of Ali Al-Salem Air Base, and the defect was dealt with by a crew.”

The aircraft landed safely according to the procedures followed, without human or material damage, noting that all aircraft of all kinds are subject to emergency breakdowns that are not related to the age of the aircraft or the period of its use.

The Chief of Staff pointed out that the Caracal aircraft of the Air Force carry out the tasks and duties of operational and training flight day and night on a daily basis and meet all the requests and needs of the various ministries and state institutions, as the average number of flight hours has exceeded more than 4070 flight since Caracal was pressed into service.
